Varsity Field Hockey – The Dolphins win over Oaks in final TCIS Regular Season matchup

The Dolphins traveled to Norfolk Collegiate on Tuesday afternoon for the final TCIS matchup of the regular season, winning 7-0 over the Oaks. The Dolphins were on the board the minutes into play as Ali Gordon kick-started the offensive onslaught with a penalty stroke at the 20-minute mark. With nearly 12 minutes of scoreless Field Hockey, Livy Wallace broke the drought with a goal of her own as Chloe Mugler and Caroline Fluharty recorded assists on the play. Two minutes after the second goal of the night, Olivia Zettervall recorded a goal of her own to give Cape Henry a 3-0 lead. Chloe Mugler received a penalty one minute after Zettervall’s score, giving the Dolphins a four-goal lead over the Oaks. Olivia Zettervall found the back of the cage once more before the start of the second half, propelling the Dolphins to a 5-0 halftime lead. Returning to the pitch for the second half, the Dolphins would find two more scores, with Kenzie Dillon recorded a goal as Wies Veenstra and Grace Reynolds recorded assists. Rounding out the scoring on Tuesday night, Wies Veenstra recorded her goal as Cassie Thompson was credited with the assist. The Dolphins (11-4-1) are back in action Thursday afternoon for Senior Day against Landstown High School, beginning at 4:30 pm.
