Varsity Boys Soccer TCIS Semifinal Victory

The Dolphins hosted the second round of the TCIS tournament on Wednesday afternoon, defeating the Crusaders from Catholic High School, 7-1, en route to a TCIS Finals appearance. The Dolphins took an early lead in Wednesday’s contest, scoring two goals in the first half of play. Chris Clunan continued his strong attacking play throughout the season, scoring one of the two first-half goals, with Trevor Kidd accounting for the second of two goals against the Crusaders. The Dolphins returned to the pitch for the second half, quickly scoring the third goal of the night. From here, the Dolphins remained in full control of the action as Mason Dudley poured in the fourth goal of the night to take a 4-0 lead on Wednesday afternoon. In the blink of an eye, the Dolphins answered with two more goals to extend the lead to six just before the Crusaders cut into the Dolphin lead to bring the score to 6-1. Rounding out the scoring on Wednesday afternoon, Flynn Somers found the back of the net to give Cape Henry a 7-1 TCIS Semifinal victory over Catholic High School. The Dolphins (16-2) will play for the TCIS Finals on Friday night at Virginia Wesleyan, beginning at 7:00 pm with the opponent pending on the result of the TCIS semifinal matchup between Steward School and Norfolk Academy.
