Dolphins score five in second half en route to 5-3 win

The Dolphins hosted the Spartans from Steward School on Tuesday afternoon and despite a low scoring first half, the Dolphins opened the flood gates in the second to record the 5-3 conference win. Coming off a long weekend, the Dolphins would need the entire first half to find a groove on Tuesday night. Steward struck first early in the first half and carried the 1-0 lead into the half. Returning to the pitch for the second half, the Dolphins struck for three goals within the first ten minutes. Chris Clunan found the back of the net twice during the Dolphin run, with Gavin Dooren capping off the impressive ten-minute stretch. Nearly ten minutes later, Landon Clay extended the Dolphin lead with a goal of his own to put the Dolphins ahead 4-1. Steward swung the momentum back on their side, scoring two goals late in the night. With the score reading 4-3 in favor of Cape Henry, Gavin Dooren finished his second goal of the night on a beautiful header past the Spartan keeper. The Dolphins (10-1) are back in action Friday to take on the fifth-ranked DI Collegiate School at home, beginning at 4:30 pm.
