Dolphins move to 2-0 with win over Crusaders

The Dolphins steadily improved throughout Wednesday’scontest with the Crusaders from Catholic High School, winning in three straight sets en route to the second win of the season. The Dolphins battled throughout the first set, trading points with the Crusaders before narrowly edging out Catholics 25-23 in the first set. The play improved significantly in the second set as the Dolphins picked up multiple service aces en route to a 25-25 win in the second set. With the opportunity to end the night early, the Dolphins saved the best play for the final set. Cape Henry took the third and final set 25-7over the Crusaders. Highlighting the night, Aiden Winfield led the team in both kills and assists, picking up six kills and nine assists in Wednesday’s win. Nico Cruz pitched in for eight assists, with Greg Melvin contributing four kills. Brady Old and Nick Hubbard dominated the service line, combining for 19 aces on the night. The Dolphins (2-0) will travel to Norfolk Christian on Tuesday, September 10 for a TCIS matchup with the Ambassadors from Norfolk Christian.
