The Dolphins remained perfect in conference play with a win over Norfolk Academy on Tuesday afternoon. Aiden Kuhle drew the start for the fifth time this season, completing his fifth complete game in the process. Kuhle dominated for seven innings, allowing seven hits on 89 pitches and one run. Through seven innings on the mound, Aiden added seven strikeouts and no walks to bring his season totals to 54 strikeouts and two walks. Norfolk Academy crossed the plate first on Tuesday afternoon, scoring after a leadoff triple to start the game. The Dolphins regrouped and took their first and final lead of the night in the bottom of the second inning. Josh Holland kicked off the bottom of the second with a 0-out walk. After advancing to second on a wild pitch, Rush Friedberg moved the runner to third with a ground ball to the right side of the field. Bryce Jones stepped up to the plate, giving the Dolphins their first run of the night with a single to left field and scoring Holland on the play. Kyle Edwards followed Jones with an RBI double over the right fielder’s head to take a 2-1 lead. Rounding out the inning, Kenny Schaedel allowed the third run to cross the plate with an RBI single to center field. The Dolphins and Bulldogs remained scoreless for the next four innings before the Dolphins struck for the fourth and final run of the night in the bottom of the sixth inning. Kenny Schaedel picked up his second RBI to finish the night, scoring Bryce Jones who reached on a line drive to center. With Kuhle closing out the top of the seventh on the mound, the Dolphins finished the night with a 4-1 victory over the Bulldogs. Cape Henry (12-3) are back in action Thursday for a Senior Day matchup with a talented Nansemond Suffolk program beginning at 4:30 pm.
