The Dolphins hosted the Trojans from Walsingham Academy on Tuesday afternoon and rebounded from Monday’s loss with an important conference win. Kicking off the doubles play, the pair of Nick Hubbard and Flynn Somers defeated their top-court counterpart 8-0. Aiden Winfield and Jared Gordon followed suit with an 8-0 victory on the #2 doubles court, with the pair of Carter Oppleman and Gianni Bezada-Schenone giving Cape Henry a 3-0 lead with an 8-1 win on the #3 doubles court. Heading into singles play, the Dolphins dominated the courts as Flynn Somers earned a 6-0, 6-0 victory on the #1 singles court. Nick Hubbard, on the #2 singles court, sealed the Dolphin victory with a 6-0, 6-0 result to put Cape Henry in the lead, 5-0, with four courts left to play. Andrew Rachels stepped up on the #3 court, earning a 6-1, 6-2 victory over his Trojan opponent. Carter Oppleman competed in his first singles match of the year and brought home another win, 6-4, 6-1. Connor Smith battled on the #5 singles court and gave the Dolphins the eighth win of the match with a 6-1, 6-0 victory. Rounding out the night, Jared Gordon swept the #6 singles court with a 6-0, 6-0 result. The Dolphins (2-2) are back in action Thursday and Friday for matchups with Hampton Roads Academy and Steward School, respectively.
