Boys Basketball- CHC 80, Lancaster 51

The Dolphins traveled to Christchurch on Friday night to take on Lancaster in the John Stone Tournament and returned with an 80-51 victory. The Dolphins spread the ball throughout the night with 10 players recording points in Friday’s match-up with Lancaster. The Dolphins held Lancaster to 15 points in the first quarter and 12 points in the second quarter while nearly doubling Lancaster’s score at the half.  With the commanding lead after the first 16 minutes, the Dolphins did not lift the foot off the gas and continued to control all aspects of play. After the final 16 minutes were played, Cape Henry commanded an 80-51 victory over Lancaster, but the team was struck with more unfortunate luck as the second game in the tournament was canceled due to the playing surface. Dajour Rucker led all scorers, pouring in 21 points. Christian Moore and Danny Banister each netted 14 points, while George Cutler pitched in for eight points. Rounding out the Dolphins’ offense, CJ Bailey (6), Eric Clark (6), Greg Melvin (6), Kellen Marshall (2), and Lane Carlson (1) each found the bottom of the net. The Dolphins (3-0) will take of Blue Ridge High School on Tuesday with tip-off set for 7:00 pm.
