Boys Cross Country Dominate NSA

Boys Cross Country- 1st

Despite missing key cogs in the machine known as the boys’ XC team, the male harriers were able to dominate the field at NSA on Tuesday.  Owen Richards continued his dominant season, and with another first-place finish, Owen has not lost a race in Virginia this season.  Nick Damuth was the team’s second finisher (18:23), while Berk Alptekin crossed the line immediately after 18:25.  Simon Altmeyer grabbed 15th place, while Taisho Miller earned 19th overall.  The race was anything but a sure thing a mile and a half into the race, as midway through the team looked to be behind the squads from both Bishop Sullivan and HRA.  However, a late surge in the race put the Dolphins in front for good, giving them a hard-fought victory.  The team will next compete Saturday at the Atlantic Coast Invitational at Bells Mill.
