A Dominating Field Hockey Win Over HRA

The Dolphins rebounded from a loss to First Colonial the night before in a dominating win over Hampton Roads Academy on Tuesday night. Cape Henry was off to a fast start as Livy Wallace played a ball to Gini Kainer who finished the first score of the night nine minutes into play. Alexandra Land found her way into the scorebook, ripping the ball into the back of the cage with 15 minutes remaining in the first half. Shortly after the goal from Land, Gini Kainer was on the board again for her second goal of the night. On a corner for the Dolphins, Olivia Zettervall played a perfect ball to Alexandra Land for the fourth score of the night and Land’s second on the night. Rounding out the scoring for the first half, Ali Gordon crushed the ball by the keeper to bring the score to 5-0 at the half. Two minutes into the second half, the Dolphins were on the board again as Kate Shepherd found the back of the cage. Rounding out the night’s scoring, Mackenzie White finished the pass from Jillian Somers, giving the Dolphins a well-executed 7-0 victory over the Navigators. The Dolphins (6-1) will take on the Oaks from Norfolk Collegiate on Thursday beginning at 4:30 pm.
