The Dolphins hosted the rematch of the State Finals from the previous season, with the Dolphins falling 3-0 at the final whistle. 18 minutes into the first half, St. Christopher’s snuck the first goal of the night into the back of the net as the Dolphins struggled to pressure the Saints’ midfield play, allowing St. Christopher’s the space to connect multiple passes each possession. The Dolphins and Saints held each other scoreless for the final 22 minutes of the first half. Following halftime, the Dolphins emphasized the pressure on the Saints midfield, but as the workload increased for Cape Henry’s backline, fatigue became a significant factor for the Dolphins. The Saints added two goals late in the second half to extend the lead to 3-0. The Dolphins (4-1) are back in action Tuesday as they travel to Hampton Roads Academy for a 4:30 pm kick-off.
