This week’s Athlete of the Week, Ali Gordon, continues to quietly dominate for the Dolphins’ Varsity Field Hockey program. Ali consistently performs at an elite level despite playing a position not always known for an overwhelming stat line; however, her presence on the field is a top priority in each opposing team’s game plan.

“Ali was instrumental in our wins over Tallwood High School (6-0) and St. Catherine’s School (1-0). Ali saved her best performance of the season for when the Dolphin’s needed her most in the tightly contested win over St. Catherine’s,” Head Coach Kate Kinnear said of Ali.

The Dolphins, behind the exceptional and dependable play of Ali Gordon in the midfield, are 4-1 through five games this season. The Dolphins are at their best when Ali controls the middle of the field.

“Ali dominated the Midfield throughout the night, contesting the St. Catherine’s attack and helping to build the pressure for the Dolphin’s attack,” Head Coach Kate Kinnear continued. “Ali’s performance led to the assist on the lone goal in our win over St Catherine’s.”

Ali and the Dolphins Varsity Field Hockey program look to keep the momentum rolling as the Dolphins have sights set on a TCIS and State title. The Dolphins are back in action Saturday, September 22 as Cape Henry hosts Kellam High School beginning at 10:00 am.
