  1. SNL- Hillary Clinton/Trump Donald Trump vs. Hillary Clinton Third Debate Cold Open

This skit includes Tom Hanks and Alec Baldwin as guest stars. The skit reenacts the final debate between President-elect Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton. Through making fun of both candidates, this miniseries was definitely one of the best highlights of 2016 and added much needed comic relief. Two seniors Brianna DeLarge stated “I loved watching it” and Ashley Wendt gave her opinion, “SNL was the most watched and so elaborate… it was like perfect.” Clearly through the cast, the comedy, and other CHC opinions, SNL wins the best late night TV show moment.


  1.  Late Night Show- Jon Stewart returns

Two years ago in 2015 Jon Stewart left the Daily Show after 17 years. During the summer of 2016 Jon Stewart made a guest appearance on Stephen Colbert’s The Late Night Show. Jon Stewart talked about the Republican National Convention and celebrates with Mr. Colbert about the retirement of former Fox CEO Roger Ailes.

James Cordan has a segment on his show where A-list celebrities join him in the car and sing to their and other popular artists while driving around the town. This episode Adele is featured and besides her own songs, she sings some throwbacks and raps a little.

Samantha Bee, who used to be on the Daily Show, started her own show on TBS.  She is a political comedy show and in this particular segment of the show, she discusses the topic of conspiracy theories throughout the election. So she decided to make up one of her own. Brianna DeLarge also commented, “This was one of the funniest things I’ve ever seen”.

  1. Lip Sync Battle- Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan-Tatum

Now this one has no politically meaning, but was one of the most memorable moments of the year. This power couple went against each other on the popular show Lip Sync Battle. Whether it was Jenna Tatum interpretation of her husband’s famous Magic Mike dance scene or  Channing Tatum dancing to Beyonce with the artist herself coming out and joining him, it was the best lip sync battle of 2016.

One of Jimmy Kimmel’s most famous skits of his show, “Celebrities Reading Mean Tweets”. In this specific one the 44th President Barack Obama reads people tweeting about himself and adds some comedy to the tweets themselves.
