Forbes youngest self-made billionaire ever made the most shocking move ever

The young billionaire Kylie Jenner sold 51% of her company, Kylie Cosmetics and Kylie Skin for billions of dollars.

Kylie Jenner has always been in the spotlight since she was young. She was always seen in their reality TV show, Keeping Up With The Kardashians, and moved into other fields of interest. Kylie and her sister started a clothing line and both modeled as well. She wasn’t very interested in those fields until she found her calling. Kylie’s true passion was in cosmetics. She built her company, Kylie Cosmetics and Kylie Skin, and is now known to be one of the most popular cosmetics brands in the United States.

She may be a makeup mogul but she didn’t start out that way. Kylie was born into fame. She was first seen on their reality TV show. From there, she saw her sisters becoming successful and wanted to as well. Kylie modeled in fashion shows, started a clothing line with her sister called Kendall and Kylie, and wrote the novel Rebels: City of Idra. She became a social media star as well with 270 million followers but there was no stopping there. She moved into cosmetics and became a billionaire but still kept going. She moved into fragrances and later skin care. She started all of this at the age of twelve when they started their fashion company. From there, Kylie has been unstoppable reaching heights and being known as the youngest self-made billionaire ever.

Surprisingly, she made the biggest move. She sold 51% of her multi-billion dollar company making her have the lesser share of it. 51% of her company is now owned by the brand, Coty. Coty is a world leading beauty company whose mission is to spread the world of cosmetics, fragrances, skin care, hair color and styling to everyone. Coty owns and has partnerships with several brands such as Balenciaga, Gucci, Sally Hanson nail polishes, Adidas, and several others. The reason she sold 51% of her company was to make her company be known by everyone and develop each and every product into an international beauty powerhouse. Kylie received $600 million in their long-term strategic partnership and now has more money than ever. However, she still remains the face of the brand.

A poll was taken at Cape Henry Collegiate to see how people actually view her. When given three choices, 17% of people think of Kylie as a business woman while 43% of people immediately view of her as a reality star, and 40% of people label her as a social media icon. Evidently, many people have opposing views on who she really is. Tori Orie (‘21) believes she sold her company in order to focus more on her child and to lighten the load of her company. Tori believes her decision was the right one to make. However, Tyler Midgette had a different response to Kylie’s decisions. He believes her decision was made in order to alleviate herself of the responsibility and to satisfy her desire for more money. Kristin Havill (‘21) believes Kylie Jenner made the right decision to sell the majority of her company. She thinks Kylie Jenner’s motive is for her to spend more time with her family and focus less on her company. Every person has differing views on her decision but ultimately she wanted to make her company global. How do you view her? Do you think that was her only motive or not?

Kylie Jenner has taken the world by storm. She is the youngest sister of the Kardashian-Jenner family and now the richest of them all. She sold 51% of her company for 600 million dollars and now has a net worth of 1.2 billion dollars. Kylie has planned to take her company global but what do you think is next for her? Will she use her money for a good purpose like her sister who is helping free criminals or will she focus on her daughter and her company. What do you think she will do next?
