Girls Cross Country finish 12th in DII State Championships! Boys finish 15th in DI State Championships

The Dolphins traveled to Mechanicsville, Virginia for the Division II Cross Country Championships on Thursday night, finishing in 12th place in the field of 28 teams and nearly 250 contestants. Capturing All-State Honors for her performance on Thursday night, Avan Johnson produced the highest finish of all Dolphins, crossing the finish line in 14th place in a time of 20:59.40. Carlie Meyerholz’s well-run race showed in her performance, earning a 23rd place finish with a time of 21:24.70. Rounding out the top-five for the Dolphins, Anabelle Denton, Julia Gnasso, and Cat Lestyan accounted for the remaining Dolphin points in Thursday’s DII State Championships.
The Dolphins traveled to Mechanicsville, Virginia on Thursday afternoon for the Division I State Cross Country Championships, finishing in 15th place in the field 19 teams and 200 contestants. Leading the way for Cape Henry, Zach Earl captured 37th place while crossing the finish line in an outstanding 17:48.30 and set the tone for the Dolphins throughout the day. Berk Alptekin crossed the finish line second for the Dolphins, finishing the race in 66th place overall with a time of 18:35.40. Rounding out a solid performance for Cape Henry, Nick Damuth, Connor Amet, and Mitchell Cuthriell accounted for the Dolphin top-five in the Division I State Championship.
