Varsity Boys Soccer – Dolphins advance to TCIS semifinals with win over Ambassadors

The Dolphins hosted the opening round of the TCIS Tournament on Tuesday afternoon and advanced to the TCIS semifinals with a 5-0 win over Norfolk Christian. The Dolphins were in full control on Tuesday afternoon, scoring three goals in rapid succession 15 minutes into play. Accounting for the eventual game-winner, Gavin Dooren opened the scoring for the Dolphins as Carter Atherton picked up the assist. Nearly five minutes after the game’s opening score, Kyle Usonis scored his first of the night as Gavin Dooren recorded the assist. Rounding out the first-half scoring, Kyle Usonis found the back of the net for his second goal of the night with Trevor Kidd assisting on the play. The Dolphins carried the three-goal lead into the second half and found the back of the net twice more as Parker Mann recorded the final two goals of the night. The Dolphins (15-2) advanced to the TCIS semifinals with the win over NCS, and are set to host the Crusaders from Catholic tonight at 4:00 pm.
