Dolphins score early and often in win over Deep Creek

The Dolphins hosted Deep Creek High School on Monday night, with the Dolphins racing out to a four-goal lead in the first five minutes of play. The Dolphins scored early and often to kick-off Monday night’s contest with Deep Creek. Livy Wallace was firing on all cylinders as she found the back of the cage twice in less than two minutes of play. Mackenzie White assisted Wallace’s first score of the night 27 seconds into the night. Wallace followed her first goal with her second at the28-minute mark. With 25 minutes remaining in the first half, the Dolphins scored again as Cameron Dodzik accounted for Cape Henry’s third score. Rounding out the first five minutes of the night, Mackenzie White found the back of the net as Livy Wallace returned the favor for the assist. The Dolphins, holding a comfortable lead, provided all members of the roster with valuable game experience. With two minutes left in the first half, Caitlin Gentry scored her first Varsity goal of her career as Wies Veenstra earned the assist on the play. The Dolphins carried the 5-0 lead into half time and returned to the turf for the second half with Tori Winans in line for the shutout in goal. Two minutes into the second half, the Dolphins extended the lead to six with the final score of the night. Scoring on the play, Wies Veenstra earned the score as Livy Wallace picked up her second assist of the night. The Dolphins (8-3-1)will host TCIS opponent Nansemond Suffolk Academy on Thursday night, beginning at 4:30 pm.
