Dolphins fall to top-ranked Knights

The Dolphins hosted the area’s top-ranked program on Tuesday night and fell to Kellam High School in three straight sets. The Dolphins were off to a slow start on Tuesday night as the Knights quickly jumped on the Dolphins. With Kellam continuing to display a fast pace attack, the Dolphins dropped the first set, 12-25. The second set brought much of the same, as the Dolphins appeared to be shaking off the rust from the long weekend, falling 10-25. The Dolphins began to play the brand of Volleyball Cape Henry has become accustomed to in the third set, battling to a 21-25 third-set loss to an incredibly talented program. Aiden Winfield led the Dolphin attack, distributing 17 assists on Tuesday night. Nick Hubbard contributed nine kills, while Greg Melvin and Robert Campbell each recorded four kills. Lane Carlson rounded out the Dolphin highlights with four blocks against the Knights. The Dolphins (8-5) are back in action Thursday, October 17 for Senior Day beginning at 5:00 pm.
