Dolphins earn TCIS win over Trojans

The Dolphins hosted the Trojans from Walsingham Academy on Thursday night for a home TCIS matchup. The Dolphins raced out to a 3-0 lead after Doubles play and carried the momentum into singles play, picking up five of six wins. Rachel Moore and Stephanie Strickland battled on the number one doubles court, swiftly defeating their Trojan counterparts, 8-1. Anna Kutelia and Halle Speight followed the lead, producing an 8-1 win on the number two court. Rounding out doubles play, Mary Turner Shipp and Parker Matacunas gave the Dolphins a 3-0 lead with an 8-4 result on the number three court. Heading into singles play, the Dolphins continued to dominate play with Rachel Moore leading the charge with a 6-2, 6-2 result on the top court. Anna Kutelia and Stephanie Strickland picked up two more wins for the Dolphins, winning 6-0, 6-2 and 6-1, 6-2, respectively. Makenna DeTorres kept the momentum rolling with a court four win, winning 6-3, 6-3. Rounding out the Dolphin wins, Halle Speight gave the Dolphin win number eight with a 6-1, 6-1 result. The Dolphins (7-3) are back in action Tuesday, October 1 as the girls travel to Steward School for a TCIS matchup with the Spartans.
