Cross Country Travels to NA

Dolphin Cross Country traveled to Norfolk Academy on Thursday night for the second NA meet of the season, with the Dolphin boys racing out to a second-place finish. With the girls’ side battling illness, the Dolphins were unable to place with only four participants. Leading the charge on the boys’ side, Zach Earl produced his fastest time of the season with a 5th Place finish in 18:03. Berk Alptekin continued his stellar season, finishing the race in 7th place in a time of 18:42. On the heels of Alptekin, Nick Damuth finished just one spot behind in 8th place, finishing with a time of 18:44. Rounding out the top five finishing, both Connor Amet (13th) and Mitchell Cuthriell (19th) finished inside the top-20 to propel the Dolphins into 2nd place overall. Racing with a team of four on Thursday night, the Dolphins were unable to place as a team but Carlie Meyerholz completed the bronze finish with a time of 22:14. Avan Johnson was closely behind, finishing the race in 6th Place with a time of 22:52. Cat Lestyan and Julia Gnasso rounded out the girls’ side with 20th and 21st Place, respectively. The Dolphins are back in action Thursday, October 4 for a meet at Mt. Trashmore beginning at 3:30 pm.
