Dolphins win over Atlantic Shores

The Dolphins took on the Seahawks from Atlantic Shores for the second time in 2019, with the Dolphins repeating the success found earlier in the season, producing a 9-0 win on Tuesday night. The Dolphins swept doubles play, with Rachel Moore and Stephanie Strickland kick-starting the run with an 8-2 result on the number one court. Anna Kutelia and Halle Speight ran with the momentum, earning the second doubles win, 8-2 on the number two court. Rounding out doubles play, Parker Matacunas and Caroline Dixon found success on the number three court with an 8-0 win over their Atlantic Shores counterparts. Heading into singles play, the Dolphins would sweep all 12 sets on four of the six courts in play. Anna Kutelia, Makenna DeTorres, Mary Turner Shipp, and Halle Speight sealed the Dolphin victory as the four each finished the night with a 6-0, 6-0 victory. Stephanie Strickland gave Cape Henry the eighth win of the night on the number two court with a 6-1, 6-1 result. Rounding out Tuesday’s play, Rachel Moore earned a 7-5, 6-2 victory. The Dolphins (6-3) will host the Trojans from Walsingham Academy on Thursday night, beginning at 4:00 pm.
