Dolphins win on home court over Navigators

The Dolphins hosted the Navigators from Hampton Roads Academy for a TCIS matchup on Thursday night, with the Dolphins completing the sweep for a 9-0 victory. The Dolphins quickly wrapped up Doubles play as Rachel Moore and Stephanie Strickland, Halle Speight and Anna Kutelia, and Parker Matacunas and Mary Turner Shipp each won resoundingly to propel the Dolphin to a 3-0 lead entering singles play. Rachel Moore gave the Dolphins the fourth win as she completed the court one win by way of forfeit. Anna Kutelia and Stephanie Strickland sealed the Dolphin victory, finishing 6-0, 6-1 wins on the number two and three courts, respectively. Makenna DeTorres followed the lead on the number four court, earning a 6-2, 6-1 victory to give the Dolphins seven wins on the night. Rounding out Thursday’s competition, Mary Turner Shipp and Halle Speight completed 6-3, 6-0 results to capture Cape Henry’s fifth win of the season. The Dolphins (5-3) are back in action Tuesday, September 24 to take on Tallwood High School beginning at 4:00 pm at Atlantic Shores Christian School.
