Dolphins earn shutout in win over Navigators

The Dolphins kept the season’s momentum rolling on Thursday night, defeating the Navigators from Hampton Roads Academy on the road. The Dolphins struck first as Caroline Fluharty found the back of the cage for the eventual game-winner at the 15-minute mark in the first half. Assisting on the play, Jillian Somers and Livy Wallace. Less than a minute following the night’s first score, Jillian Somers found the back of the net to give the Dolphins the insurance goal. The Navigators and Dolphins remained scoreless for the remainder of the first half, and with the return to the turf, the Dolphins would add three more before the final whistle. Nearly ten minutes into the second half, Cameron Dodzik drilled the back of the cage as Livy Wallace and Caroline Fluharty were credited with assists on the play. At the 16-minute mark, Livy Wallace rounded out her stellar night with a goal of her own to give the Dolphins an insurmountable 4-0 lead with 15 minutes left in play. Rounding out the night’s scoring, Caitlin Gentry found Mackenzie White in front of the goal for the fifth and final goal of the night. The Dolphins (5-0) will travel to PA for the Max Field Hockey Tournament on Saturday.
