Dolphins earn home win over Knights from Peninsula Catholic

The Dolphins welcomed the Knights from Peninsula Catholic to Cape Henry Collegiate for a TCIS contest on Wednesday night, with the Dolphinsfinishing the night in three straight sets. Cape Henry dominated play in the opening frame, racing out to an insurmountable lead and finishing the first set, 25-9. Leading 1-0 on the night, the boys gently took their foot off the gas en route to a 25-17 second set on Wednesday night. Running like a well-oiled machine, the Dolphins continue to shape into an exciting team with incredible defense and a bevy of options on attack. Utilizing the versatile attack, the Dolphins finished the night with a 25-18 third set win over the Knights. Leading the attack, Nick Hubbard accumulated nine kills, while Greg Melvin pitched in for five on the night. Defensively, Brady Old once again led the Dolphin defense with 15 digs across the three sets. Rounding out the Dolphin highlights, Aiden Winfield accounted for 16 assists and added six aces along the way. Tidewater’s #11 Dolphins (6-3) are back in action Friday, September 20 to take on Catholic High School beginning at 5:00 pm.
