Dolphins earn TCIS win over Crusaders

The Dolphins hosted the Crusaders for a conference matchup with Catholic High School on Tuesday night, with the Dolphins sweeping all competition en route to a 9-0 victory. The Dolphins set the tone early in doubles play with all three Dolphin pairs earning resounding wins. Rachel Moore and Stephanie Strickland drew court one honors, winning swiftly with an 8-4 result. Anna Kutelia and Halle Speight carried the momentum from a court one win and propelled the Dolphins to a court two victory with an 8-1 result. Rounding out doubles play, Mary Turner Shipp and Parker Matacunas gave the Dolphins a 3-0 lead with an 8-2 result heading into singles play. Rachel Moore, on the number one court, extended the Dolphin lead to four with a 7-6, 6-0 result over her Catholic opponent. Anna Kutelia (court two), Makenna DeTorres (court four), and Halle Speight (court six) each earned a 6-2, 6-0 result on their respective courts to clinch the conference victory on Tuesday night. Stephanie Strickland gave the Dolphins the eighth win on the number three court with a 6-3, 6-3 result, while Mary Turner Shipp rounded out the Dolphin results with a 6-1, 6-1 results on the number five court. The Dolphins (4-3) are back in action on Thursday to host the Navigators from Hampton Roads Academy beginning at 4:00 pm.
