Dolphins earn win on the road versus Crusaders

The Dolphins traveled to Catholic High School on Tuesday afternoon for a TCIS matchup with the Crusaders, with the Dolphins returning with a 4-1 victory behind 18 corners on the day. The Dolphins were on the board for the first three scores of the night, as Jillian Somers kicked off the scoring with the opening goal of the night at the 26 minutes mark of the first half. Six minutes later, Ali Gordon found the back of the cage on a corner swung in from Olivia Zettervall, who was credited with the assist on the play. Rounding out the Dolphins’ first-half scoring, Caroline Fluharty continued her stellar season with her first of the night. Assisting on Fluharty’s goal was Mackenzie White. The Crusaders cut into the lead to bring the contest into halftime with the Dolphins leading 3-1. Returning to the turf for the final 30 minutes, the Dolphins were in full control on Tuesday night’s battle. Midway through the second half, the Dolphins struck again for the final goal of the night. Kenzie Dillon recorded her first goal of the night with Livy Wallace and Mackenzie White recording the assists on the final score. The Dolphins (4-0) will continue conference play on Thursday night, taking on the Navigators from Hampton Roads Academy on the road beginning at 4:00 pm.
