Dolphins remain unbeaten with win over Tabb

Cape Henry hosted Tabb High School for a contest featuring Tidewater’s fourth-ranked Dolphins and eighth-ranked Tigers, with the Dolphins pulling out the victory as the final horn sounded. From the opening whistle, Tabb pushed the pace of Tuesday night’s contest as the Dolphins quickly matched the Tiger’s speed of play. With a scoreless night midway through the first half, Mackenzie White struck for the first score—and the eventual game-winner—with Livy Wallace assisting on the play to give Cape Henry the 1-0 lead. Ten minutes later, Cameron Dodzik extended the Dolphin lead to two on an unassisted goal with six minutes remaining in the first half. The Dolphins and Tigers broke for the half with Cape Henry leading 2-0. The teams returned to the turf for another exciting half of field hockey. The Dolphins once again struck the back of the net as Olivia Zettervall scored her first of the night with 13 minutes remaining in regulation. Cameron Dodzik was credited with the assist on Zettervall’s score to bring the overall tally to 3-0 in favor of the Dolphins. Nearly five minutes following Zettervall’s first, she struck again on a corner attempt for her second goal of the night. Assisting on the play, Chloe Mugler and Caroline Fluharty each pitched in on the score. Aleezah Adams picked up her third straight shutout of the season in the cage on Tuesday night. The 4-0 win over Tabb High School marks a 3-0 start to the season for the Dolphins who will host Tidewater’s #15 Hickory High School, beginning at 5:30 pm on Friday night.
