Baseball- CHC 5, Benedictine 15

The Dolphins traveled to Shepherd Stadium for the Division I State Semifinals on Friday afternoon, taking on the Cadets from Benedictine. The Cadets struck first in the bottom of the first inning, scoring one run. The Dolphins answered in the top of the third inning, scoring four runs on two hits. With the Dolphins leading 4-1, Benedictine capitalized on three errors from the Dolphin defense and scored 11 runs in the bottom of the third. The Dolphins grabbed one final run in the top of the fourth but were finished in the bottom of the fourth as Benedictine scored three runs to earn the 15-5 victory over Cape Henry. Benedictine went on the win the VISAA Division I State Championship. Kenny Schaedel, Dane Hoggard, Josh Holland, and Rush Friedberg each connected for one hit on Friday, while Trent Jones completed the day 2 for 2 at the plate. Highlighting the performances on the mound, Nathan Hayes threw 1.1 innings, striking out the side in the third. The Dolphins completed their season and bid farewell to two important pieces in Alex Gianascoli and TCIS Player of the Year, Aiden Kuhle.
