The Dolphins hosted the Spartans from Steward School for the TCIS semifinal contest, and despite an extraordinary outing from Alex Gianascoli on the mound, the Dolphins fell 2-0. Alex’s performance was nothing short of spectacular, throwing a complete game and limiting the Spartans to five hits on seven strikeouts and one walk. The Dolphin offense never really found the rhythm needed to propel the team into the TCIS finals, as Bryce Jones, Rush Friedberg, and Josh Holland accounted for the lone Dolphin hits. Steward struck for the game-winning run in the top of the third inning and added the insurance run in the top of the sixth. Cape Henry (15-6) will await the final State poll to determine the Division I State Tournament matchup next week.
