Lacrosse- CHC 11, Norfolk Academy 14

The Dolphins finished second in the conference on Thursday afternoon after an exciting battle with the Bulldogs from Norfolk Academy. The Dolphins were off to a hot start, scoring three goals in the first quarter as Parker Tanner-Vigil and the Dolphin defense limited the Bulldogs to two goals. Leading 3-2 heading into the second quarter, the Dolphins picked up two more goals but lost the lead as the Bulldog offense poured in five goals throughout the next 12 minutes to give Academy a 7-5 lead with halftime underway. Cape Henry picked up the defensive efforts once again, limiting Norfolk Academy to two goals in the third period, but the offense mustered only two with one quarter left to play. The Dolphins, trailing 7-9, switched to a man-to-man defense in an effort to force turnovers, but as the Bulldogs began to take time off the clock, Cape Henry ultimately dropped the contest 11-14. Leading the charge offensively, Colin Sharp came to play, scoring five goals and assisting one. Accounting for the remaining offense, Connor Garrison, William Dickie, Gavin Dooren, Jack Kainer, Neos Karides, and Max Lambert each found the back of the net once. Dickie, Aidan Rosenblum, Konrad Keenan, Carter Atherton, and Kainer each picked up one assist. Parker Tanner-Vigil picked up clutch saves all night, saving 14 shots on Thursday night. The Dolphins (9-8) will host Steward School on Monday for the first round of the TCIS tournament.
