Girls Lacrosse- CHC 13, Norfolk Academy 18

The Dolphins traveled to Norfolk Academy on Wednesday afternoon for a matchup with the Bulldogs, and after a tightly contested night, the Dolphins fell by a five-goal differential. The Dolphins took the lead early in the night but lost the lead after falling into a lull in the middle third of the contest with Norfolk Academy. Returning to the turf for the second half, the Dolphins trailed 15-6. However, mid-way through the second half, the Dolphins cut into the deficit as the girls scored five straight unanswered goals to bring the score to 15-11 in favor of the Bulldogs. As Academy began to stall to bring time off the clock, the Dolphins were forced to pick up the pressure. The girls picked up two more goals in the final 10 minutes, but Academy took advantage of the Dolphins full-out attacking pressure and converted three goals in the closing minutes to defeat the Dolphins 18-15. Leading the offensive efforts on Wednesday afternoon, Charlotte Purkey picked up an outstanding four goals. Madisen Patrick followed suit, scoring three to complete the hat trick. Claire Bingham and Gini Kainer each netted two goals on Wednesday afternoon, as Libby Kennedy and Kenzie Dillon rounded out the scoring efforts with one apiece. The Dolphins (9-4) are back in action for the TCIS quarterfinal on Tuesday, May 7 at Cape Henry.
