The Dolphins battled with the Bulldogs on the tennis courts for a TCIS matchup with Norfolk Academy on Wednesday afternoon. The Bulldogs pulled out the 8-1 victory despite three impressive showings from the Dolphins. Accounting for the lone win on Wednesday afternoon, Grahame Brown and Flynn Somers earned the 8-0 win on the number one doubles court to bring the tally to 1-2 in favor of Academy after doubles play. On the number one singles court, Grahame Brown battled to take a 6-3 victory but fell 3-6 in the second to force a tiebreaker. In the tiebreaker, Brown fought to stay alive but dropped the frame 5-10 despite a well-played match. Showing a great deal of improvement throughout the season, Byron Richards lost a closely contested match on the number four singles court despite a strong showing. Richards fell 3-6, 4-6. The Dolphins (5-3) will travel to Nansemond Suffolk Academy tonight for a TCIS matchup with the Saints at 4:00 pm.
