Softball- CHC 5, Norfolk Academy 13

The Dolphins traveled to Norfolk Academy for a TCIS matchup with the Bulldogs from Norfolk Academy, and after three innings of tightly contested softball, the Dolphins dropped the contest 13-5. The Bulldogs struck first on Tuesday afternoon, scoring two in the bottom of the first inning. The Dolphins answered in the top of the second inning to narrow the deficit to one run. Academy went on a run in the bottom of the second, adding five runs to increase the lead to 7-1 in favor of NA. In the top of the third inning, Cape Henry once again answered with four total runs to bring the tally to 7-5. The Dolphins offense slowed for the remainder of the night as the Bulldogs added two in the fourth and four in the sixth inning to close out the night, 13-5 over the Dolphins. Finley Stoops and Katie Bouch led the offense with two hits apiece as well as scoring one run each. Rachel Moore, Allie Angelo, Amberly Butler, and Faith Jones rounded out the offense with each collecting one hit. After Stoops and Bouch crossed the plate, Angelo, Butler, and Jiang contributed the final three runs for the Dolphins. Cape Henry (3-5) will travel to Nansemond Suffolk Academy on Thursday for a matchup with the Saints beginning at 4:30 pm.
