Tennis- CHC 1, Steward 8

Despite the score of the final results, the Dolphins brought Steward down to the wire in Friday’s TCIS matchup. The Dolphins fell early in doubles play as Steward raced out to an early 3-0 lead. However, each match came down to the final three points. Much of the same in singles play, as Grahame Brown earned the lone Dolphin win on Friday night, battling to a 6-1, 1-6, 11-9 win over his number one court counterpart. On the number two singles court, Flynn Somers lost the heartbreaker after nearly completing the comeback win. Somers’ match resulted in a loss, 2-6, 6-4, 8-10. While the Dolphins fell in eight of nine matches, the scores do not reflect the effort and commitment on the courts. Six of the nine matches came down to the wire, with Steward narrowly defeating their counterparts at Cape Henry. The Dolphins (4-3) will look for redemption tonight as they travel to the Peninsula for a TCIS matchup with the Knights from Peninsula Catholic.
