The Dolphins hosted conference opponent Steward School on the turf for a TCIS matchup on Friday night. The Dolphins scored 10 in the first half as Mary Grace Fowler contribute nearly half of the goals in Friday’s win. Kicking off the night’s scoring, Mary Grace found the back of the net 41 seconds into the contest to take a 1-0 lead. 26 seconds later, the Dolphins took a 2-0 lead as Libby Kennedy found her first score of the night. Steward cut into Cape Henry’s lead with 19 minutes left in the first half to bring the score to 2-1 but The Dolphins’ defense stepped up to hold the Spartans scoreless for the next 15 minutes. Cape Henry poured in the offense as the Dolphins scored five more in the same timespan. With halftime now underway, the Dolphins held onto a commanding lead with 10 goals to their tally. The Dolphins continued to pressure the Spartan defense, scoring nine goals in the second half to take the 19-8 victory over Steward School. Leading the offense, Mary Grace Fowler connected for seven goals and two assists. Claire Bingham added four goals and one assist, as Libby Kennedy scored three and assisted two on Friday. Livy Wallace added two goals, with Mackenzie White, Kenzie Dillon, and Aleezah Adams each contributing one goal. Charlotte Purkey added one assist and led the team in ground balls, scooping up four on the day. In the goal, Hannah Horgan and Eva Dickie combined for six saves. The Dolphins (7-3) will host TABB High School on Wednesday beginning at 4:30 pm.
