Softball- CHC 4, Green Run 17

The Dolphins hosted the Stallions from Green Run High School on Thursday night, and after a hot start to the afternoon, the Dolphins dropped the contest 17-4. Green Run struck first in the top of the first inning, scoring four runs in the opening frame of Thursday’s matchup. The Dolphins answered in the bottom of the inning to close the gap to one after scoring three runs in the bottom of the first. Green Run held the Dolphins scoreless in the second and third innings as the Stallions continued to cross the plate. With the fourth inning underway, Green Run raced out to a 17-3 lead, and in the bottom of the fourth inning, Cape Henry picked up the night’s final run. However, it was not enough to overcome the Stallions’ lead. Cape Henry had a remarkable night on defense despite the score, playing an error-free brand of softball. At the plate, the girls connected for eight hits. The Dolphins (3-3) will play Thursday, April 18 at home, taking on Suffolk Christian Academy at 4:30 pm.
