The Dolphins hosted the Tigers from Woodberry Forest on Friday afternoon, with the Dolphins erasing a halftime deficit to earn the win, 9-6. Accounting for the lone goal in the first quarter for the Dolphins, Jack Kainer found the back of the net with 3:30 left to play in the first quarter. Kainer’s goal cut into Woodberry’s lead, and as the 1st quarter came to a close, the Dolphins trailed 1-3. Four minutes into the second quarter, William Dickie ripped the ball past the Tiger goalie to bring the Dolphins within one goal. Woodberry extended the lead, 4-2, but Jack Kainer found the back of the net once again to bring the halftime score to 3-4 in favor of Woodberry Forest. As the teams returned to the turf for the start of the second half, the Dolphins’ Carter Atherton found the equalizer midway through the third quarter. Konrad Keenan gave Cape Henry the first lead of the night two minutes later, just before Connor Garrison gave the Dolphins a two-goal lead. With the score in favor of the Dolphins, 6-4, Cape Henry continued to put the pressure on the Tigers. With the night coming to a close, Atherton, Aidan Rosenblum, and Kainer, each found the back of the net to give the Dolphins a 9-6 win over Woodberry Forest. Jack Kainer led the offense with three goals, while Carter Atherton pitched in two goals. Aidan Rosenblum, William Dickie, Konrad Keenan, and Connor Garrison rounded out the scoring efforts with one goal apiece, as Dickie (1), Keenan (1), and Garrison (2) accounted for all Cape Henry assists. The Dolphins (5-5) are back in action for a weekend matchup with Blue Ridge beginning at 1:00 pm on Saturday.
