The Dolphins raced out to a 6-0 lead after an explosive offense performance from the Dolphins in Friday’s matchup with Peninsula Catholic. Rachel Moore led off the bottom of the first inning with a double to kick-start the offense, scoring the first run of the night as Finley Stoops and Nadia Norman each reached base to follow. Amberly Butler, Merry Jiang, and Allie Angelo each touched home after scoring Norman and Stoops to give Cape Henry and an early 6-0 lead. Amberly Butler scored again in the bottom of the second inning to give the Dolphins a 7-0 lead, before connecting for her first Home Run of the season in the bottom of the third inning.  Butler’s Home Run scored Stoops who reached on a single. The Dolphins ended the game early, scoring six in the inning and taking a 15 run lead as Moore, Stoops, Norman, Katie Bouch, Angelo, and Madeline Ripa each scored in the bottom of the fourth inning. Amberly Butler earned the win from the mound and connected for her first Home Run of the season in a 3-4 performance at the plate and scoring three times on the base path. Rachel Moore went 3-4 with two runs scored, as Finley Stoops followed suit, scoring three times on a 3-4 day from the plate. Nadia Norman completed a 2-4 day from the plate, scoring twice on the day as Merry Jiang and Katie Bouch each collected two hits in three plate appearances and scored once. Allie Angelo rounded out the Dolphin offense with a 3-3 performance at the plate, scoring twice. The Dolphins (2-0) are back in action Wednesday as the girls host the Bulldogs from Norfolk Academy beginning at 4:30 pm.
