The Dolphins completed conference play undefeated with a come-from-behind win against the Ambassadors from Norfolk Christian, as Dajour Rucker scored a season-high to erase the 10-point first-half deficit. Norfolk Christian came out firing on all cylinders Tuesday night, racing out to an early lead behind three straight 3-pointers to open the night’s action. The Dolphins chipped away to leave the deficit at 10 points, trailing 23-13 at the end of the first quarter. Cape Henry continued to cut into the lead throughout the second quarter and brought the score to 30-36 at the break. Christian Moore came alive in the second half with two massive 3-pointers to tie the contest at 36-36. The Dolphins earned a fresh start with the tie score, and the Dolphins were back to utilizing the size and strength of Dajour Rucker as the Dolphins captured the first lead of the night behind Rucker’s eight third-quarter points. As the fourth quarter was set to start with Cape Henry ahead 48-42, it was once again Rucker’s show. The Dolphins dumped the ball into the post over and over, and Dajour went to work, netting 11 fourth-quarter points to propel the Dolphins to a 75-55 win over Norfolk Christian. Dajour Rucker scored a season-high 34 points and dominated the glass en route to a double-double performance. Christian Moore’s shooting performance brought the Dolphins back into the game as he knocked down five 3-pointers, scoring 17 on the night. Kellen Marshall scored five important points in the second quarter to cut into the Ambassador’s lead and finished with eight points. Danny Banister (5), Erik Clark (4), Lane Carlson (3), and George Cutler (3) rounded out the Dolphin offense on Tuesday night. The Dolphins (20-4, 10-0) will host the first round of the TCIS Tournament on February 19 with the opponent to be determined once the conference regular season has concluded across the TCIS.
