Girls Basketball- CHC 42, StoneBridge 8

The Dolphins hosted the Cavaliers from StoneBridge School on Monday night and rebounded from a previous loss behind double-digit steals from the Cape Henry defense. The Dolphins immediately pressured the StoneBridge guards to open the night, converting 12 points off Cavalier turnovers and leading to 21 first-quarter points for Cape Henry. The Dolphins picked up seven additional points in the second quarter while limiting StoneBridge to a total of five first-half points as the score read, 28-5 at the break. The Dolphins provided valuable game experience to the entire roster throughout the night and netted 10 third-quarter points while limiting the Cavaliers to three points. The girls held on in the final quarter, defeating StoneBridge 42-8 on the night. Olivia Zettervall led all scorers, pouring in 10 points while Nadia Norman contributed eight. Paris Beale and Madisen Patrick each scored six points, as Madisen forced double-digit turnovers and involved her teammates on the offensive end of the court. Izzy Schleifer (4), Amberly Butler (4), Mackenzie White (2), and Emily Ryan (2) rounded out the Dolphin offense on Monday night. The Dolphins (6-7) are off for the remainder of the week and will pick up action on Tuesday, February 5, traveling to Nansemond Suffolk for a 5:00 pm tip-off.
