The Dolphins traveled to Dumfries to take on Wolves from St. John Paul the Great and dropped the contest after falling behind by 14 points in the first quarter. Cape Henry was off to a sluggish start, scoring only eight points in the opening eight minutes. The Wolves buried basket after basket to take a 22-8 lead over the Dolphins as the first quarter came to a close. Cape Henry’s offense came alive in the second quarter as the Dolphins poured in 15 points. Unfortunately, the defense did not follow suit and the Wolves held on to the 14 lead with Cape Henry trailing 23-37 at the break. After much of the same in the third quarter, the Dolphins entered the final quarter trailing 40-53. Cape Henry made a push in the final minutes of the night, scoring 22 points in the fourth, but the efforts were too little too late as the Dolphins fell to St. John Paul the Great, 62-70. Dajour Rucker led the Dolphin offense with 29 points, while Christian Moore added 12. Danny Banister and Greg Melvin each added seven points, with EJ Clark (4) and CJ Bailey (3) rounding out the scoring efforts.
