Girls Basketball- CHC 34, HRA 27
Cape Henry hosted the Navigators from Hampton Roads Academy on Tuesday night, and after a slow start to the first quarter, the Dolphins found the winning recipe in the second half. Cape Henry was limited to four points in the low-scoring opening frame, as the Navigators took an 8-4 lead. The Dolphins evened the score in the second quarter, bringing the tally to 14-14 at the break. Returning to the court for the second half, the Dolphins’ press made all the difference. What has become the hallmark of this roster, HRA could not find the answer to the in-your-face pressure as the Dolphins forced multiple turnovers to open the half. Cape Henry jumped out to a seven-point lead, opening the final frame 28-21. The Dolphins, holding on to the seven-point lead, flawlessly slowed the game in the final four minutes and held on to win by the same seven-point differential. With the 34-27 win over HRA, Madisen Patrick led the offense with 14 points while Aleezah Adams added 10. Paris Beale (4), Nadia Norman (3), Olivia Zettervall (2), and Amberly Butler (1) rounding out Cape Henry’s offense on Tuesday night. The Dolphins (4-6) will be tested on Friday as the girls host Collegiate of Richmond beginning at 6:00 pm.
