Wrestling- CHC 55, Norfolk Christian 18

Cape Henry took to the mats for the first conference matchup of the season against the Ambassadors from Norfolk Christian. After eight matches and six forfeits the Dolphins defeated Norfolk Christian, 55-18. Jack Simkins kicked off competition at the 126-weight class and gave the Dolphins the first win, defeating his NCS opponent by decision 13-7. A forfeit and a Norfolk Christian win followed before Aedan Somers put the Dolphins back on track with a pin at the 1:56 mark over his 145 lbs. opponent. Sam Goshgarian, wrestling in the 152-weight class, followed suit and pinned his opponent in just under 90 seconds to give the Dolphins a resounding lead. Colin Sharp was next on the mats and defeated his 160 lbs. opponent by major decision, winning 11-1. Colby and Jackson Kassir, followed by Reed Truxell and Parker Tanner-Vigil all picked up points by way of forfeit and extended the Cape Henry lead with three matches remaining on the night. Aiden Altamura impressed in his match, defeating his 106 lbs. counterpart by Tech Fall at the end of the first period with a commanding 24-8 victory. After Norfolk Christian picked up their final victory of the night, Chris Parker earned a win by forfeit to bring the night to an end with the Dolphins ahead 55-18. Cape Henry (1-0) will travel to North Hampton High School for the Fred Diem Invitational on Friday and Saturday beginning at 3:30 pm on Friday and 9:30 am on Saturday.
