The Dolphins captured the first conference win of the season in an explosive offensive performance against the Oaks from Norfolk Collegiate on Tuesday night. Dajour Rucker kick-started the offense as he scored 10 points in the first quarter. The Oaks scrambled to find an answer for Rucker in the post throughout the first eight minutes of play and heading into the second quarter, Cape Henry carried a three-point lead. The boys caught fire in the second, scoring an unbelievable 29 points and extended the lead to 45-30 at the half. There was no slowing down for the Dolphin offense at the start of the second half, as Cape Henry poured in 20 more points. Closing out the final quarter of play, the Oaks were defeated 92-79, and Cape Henry advanced to 1-0 in conference play. Dajour Rucker led all scorers with 33 points, scoring double digits in two of the four quarters played. Christian Moore excelled in the second quarter, scoring 10 of his 22 points on the night. Danny Banister came off the bench to score 10 and provided an essential defensive presence. George Cutler (8), Bryson Spell (5), Greg Melvin (4), Kellen Marshall (2), CJ Bailey (2), and Erik Clark (2) rounded out the scoring efforts for the Dolphins. Cape Henry (8-2) will host the Crusaders from Bishop Sullivan in the second conference matchup of the season on Friday night at 7:00 pm.
