Girls Basketball- CHC 35, Green Run 40

The Dolphins hosted Green Run for the first of two exciting games on Friday Night, ultimately falling despite an incredible second-half comeback. The girls were treated with the biggest crowd of the season but searched for a rhythm in the first half. The Dolphins were finding high percentage shots, but could not lift the lid off the basket as Cape Henry fell behind 15-21 at the break. The Dolphins’ intensity picked up dramatically as the crowd’s intensity grew in the second half of play. Cape Henry struggled to make up the difference in the third quarter, but as the fourth quarter began, the offense and defense began to click. Cape Henry’s press changed the dynamic of the matchup with the girls limiting Green Run to six fourth-quarter points. Cape Henry connected for 12 points in the final eight minutes, but a slow start to the night haunted the girls as Cape Henry fell by a score of 35-40. Nadia Norman led the offense with 13 points, with Madisen Patrick pitching in for eight points. Olivia Zettervall contributed seven points and added five of her seven in the fourth-quarter comeback push. Rounding out the scoring efforts, Aleezah Adams, Paris Beale, and Izzy Schleifer each added two points on the night. The Dolphins (2-5) will host Norfolk Collegiate on Tuesday night beginning at 5:30 pm.
