Girls Basketball- CHC 42, Kellam 62

The Dolphins hosted an organized and talented Kellam High School on Thursday night. Cape Henry stuck in the matchup with the Knights until running out of gas in the second half. The defensive pressure from the Dolphins’ lineup is quickly becoming a big part of the game plan for CHC, with the athleticism of the basketball roster. As the Dolphins pressured the Knights, the first quarter ended with the Knights ahead 15-12. In the second quarter, the Dolphins continued to force turnovers and missed shots, bringing the score to 21-18 at the half. It was apparent the Dolphins were running out of steam at the start of the third quarter, and the Knights began to pull ahead, taking a 42-32 lead with eight minutes remaining in regulation. Cape Henry kept the pressure on but were not hitting the shots necessary to get back into the game and eventually dropped the contest 61-42. Nadia Norman led all scorers with 20 points, while Madisen Patrick dropped in nine points. Olivia Zettervall contributed five points, while Paris Beale grabbed nine boards and four points. Emily Ryan and Amberly Butler rounded out the scoring with two points apiece. The Dolphins (2-3) will host the Australian Club Team on Saturday with tip-off set for 3:30 pm.
