Behind an explosive offensive performance in the regular season opener, the Dolphins defeated Williamsburg Christian Academy on Wednesday night. The Dolphins opened play with a 23-point first quarter performance, netting nine points from the 3-point arch in the first eight minutes and adding 14 points in the paint. The Dolphins closed out the first half by adding 14 points in the second quarter, giving Cape Henry 37 first-half points. The offense caught fire in the second half, netting an outstanding 49 points in 16 minutes of play. With the final buzzer sounding, Cape Henry defeated Williamsburg Christian Academy, 84-57. Dajour Rucker led all scorers with 26 points and added 10 rebounds throughout the night. Christian Moore poured in 20 points and picked up five assists, while Danny Banister contributed 14 points. Rounding out the scoring efforts, George Cutler (8), Bryson Spell (7), Greg Melvin (7), Kellen Marshall (2), and Landon Clay (2) all found the bottom of the net in the dominant performance. The Dolphins (1-0) will play Friday and Saturday in the Hoops and Dream Tournament at Churchland High School, taking on Bull City Prep Academy Friday at 5:30 pm and Carolina Basketball Academy on Saturday at 12:30 pm.
