The Dolphins hosted the Oaks from Norfolk Collegiate for the opening round of the TCIS tournament on Tuesday afternoon. The Dolphins finished on four attempts despite nearly 25 shots on frame and roughly 15 corners throughout the night. Opening the scoring for the Dolphins, Alexandra Land picked up an assist on the corner attempt with Ali Gordon picking up the Dolphins’ first score. Alexandra Land officially passed her sister, Madison Land, on the All-Time Points list for Cape Henry with the assist. With nine minutes remaining in the first half, Claire Bingham extended the Dolphins lead to 2-0 after deflecting Ali Gordon’s pass into the back of the cage. The Dolphins carried the 2-0 lead into halftime, and after returning to play, it was not long before Caroline Fluharty gave the Dolphins the third goal of the night with Alexandra Land assisting on the score. Rounding out the night’s offense, Ali Gordon scored her second goal of the night with Olivia Zettervall assisting. The Dolphins will host Bishop Sullivan in the TCIS semifinals tonight at 4:00 pm.
