Disappointing Field Hockey Loss To NA

Field Hockey- CHC 0, Norfolk Academy 2

The area’s #3 Dolphins traveled to #4 Norfolk Academy on Thursday night to determine the TCIS regular season champion. Behind a spirited crowd on both sides of the pitch, the matchup was set up to give fans a treat. However, the confidence seen throughout the season eluded the Dolphins for much of the first half. The Dolphins’ first 15 minutes was plagued by timid play, with Cape Henry shying away from the aggressive play which has been the backbone of Cape Henry’s success this season. The Bulldogs struck for the only two goals of the night, scoring both goals in the first half in the 17th and 23rd minute of the match. The Dolphins were able to hold the Bulldogs scoreless in the second half, but could not find the back of the cage despite several chances. It was apparent the Dolphins are more than capable of defeating the conference rival, as the two teams are likely to match up again in the TCIS tournament finals. The Dolphins will first need to defeat Hampton Roads Academy in the TCIS quarterfinal on Tuesday night.
