The Dolphins were on fire Tuesday night with a 9-0 win over Peninsula Catholic. In Doubles play, Fiona Clunan and Charlotte Brown kick-started the Dolphin’s impressive night with an 8-2 win on the #1 court. On the #2 court, Stephanie Strickland and Halle Speight routed their opponents, 8-0, before Lauren Matacunas and Ellen Apotheker rounded out doubles play with an 8-2 victory on the #3 court. Heading into singles play, the Dolphins displayed six dominant performances en route to the sweep. Fiona Clunan earned a 6-0, 6-0 victory on the #1 court, while Charlotte Brown defeated her opponent 6-1, 6-1 on the #2 court. Stephanie Strickland, playing on the #3 court, finished with a 6-2, 6-2 victory. Makenna DeTorres and Halle Speight each held their opponents winless en route to 6-0, 6-0 wins on the #4 and #5 courts respectively. Rounding out the Dolphin victories, Anne Porter Hudgins gave Cape Henry the ninth win with a 6-0, 6-1 win on the #6 court. The Dolphins (5-8) wrapped up the TCIS regular season and will advance to the TCIS tournament on Saturday at Huntington Park.
