Boys Cross Country Takes 6th at Atlantic Coast Invitational

The Dolphins took to Bells Mill Park on Saturday afternoon for the Atlantic Coast Invitational featuring 70 runners from eight schools. Leading the charge for Cape Henry, Owen Richards finished just shy of first place with a time of 16:00.90. Owen’s second place finish was a mere 17 seconds behind the overall winner. The Dolphins’ pack mentality was in full display again as Berk Alptekin (18:22.58), Zach Earl (18:23.91), and Nick Damuth (18:43.28) finished 33th, 34th, and 40th respectively. Rounding out the Dolphins’ scoring five was Simon Altmeyer with a time of 19:43.43. The Dolphins were the only Private School to compete in the event on Saturday, finishing in 6th ahead of Great Bridge High School and Kempsville High School. Cape Henry is back in action on Tuesday for the Cape Henry Invitational at the Sportsplex.
